Ne-Yo "Sitting" on Songs He Wrote for Michael Jackson

Ne-Yo isn’t sure what will become of all those songs he wrote for Michael Jackson before the King of Pop died last year. He says he doesn’t want to sell them to another artist, but he also doesn’t want to record them himself, either. Ne-Yo tells Australia’s The Daily Telegraph, “I’ll sit on them and wait. It’s definitely quality music but they were songs written absolutely for Michael Jackson.”

Ne-Yo says he was flattered that Michael wanted to work with him a few years ago. He says Michael had two specific goals in mind for his new music. He recalls, “Melodic and meaningful. Those were the two words which kept coming back to me.” Michael eventually shelved the project to prepare for the London concerts that never happened, due to his death.
